How to prevent the spreading of herpes
You may already be aware that there are a great number of people who have herpes. The reason there seems to be fewer however, is because many people are asymptomatic. That means, while they do have the herpes virus, they rarely get symptoms, if ever at all.
If however, you are one of the unlucky people who does experience symptoms, there are a few things that you should note and put into practice, both for your own health, and that of those close to you.
During outbreaks, it is imperative that you avoid any kind of physical contact between the area of the outbreak, and that of another person. With oral herpes, that means kissing is off limits; and with genital herpes, sexual activities must be avoided. Once the outbreak passes however, and symptoms are gone, it is generally safe to engage in these activities. With sexual intercourse however, condoms should always be used as an extra safeguard.
